Visual Arts Goals

                                                                                            

The following goals will be accomplished-
The students will discover and use a variety of multiple intelligences in each lesson
The students will discover, explore and utilize creative and critical thinking skills
The students will meet all requirements of the state and national visual arts standards
The students will accomplish  a variety of FCAT reading and math standards while working on Art projects.

The following concepts in Art will be introduced-
aesthetics and appreciation   
art elements-line, color, shape,form, space, value, texture
art principles-movement, balance, proportion, emphasis, pattern, variety and unity
computer skills through art
art history and multicultural art history
interdisciplinary connections
art materials and their possibilities
reading through art

Students will experiment and develop proficiency in the following techniques-
cutting with scissors
lettering and poster design           
coloring with crayons, markers, and colored pencils
mixed media
painting
ceramics
printing processes
chalk
weaving
paper sculpture
ink scratch off
collage
cut paper design
multicultural art
art history
art appreciation
